The 5th grade students I teach come from a low income, inner city area. They do not have the resources many of us were given when we were students. They have been through their years in school using books, paper, pencils, crayons, and are highly inexperienced in technology. My school and the teachers in it work extremely hard to give them background and more experiences, but without technology my students are losing out. They do not have the same chances or advantages as other students who have the technology in their classrooms. They work hard every day and they deserve to have highly engaging lessons where they can explore the world outside their neighborhood.
