Washington Leadership Academy was founded to expand opportunities for the students who most needed and deserved them. Our school serves students from all over DC, however, we specifically recruit students city who would otherwise not have access to a high-quality public high school. We are a Title-1 school where 85% of our student body qualifies for Free/Reduced Priced Breakfast and Lunch, and 23% of our student body classify as special education. We are only in our 3rd year of existence but have already had huge success with student achievement across Math, English, and AP Computer Science. But even with our school dedicating as many resources to our students, us teachers always are always looking for funding for things that don't make it into the budget. All materials I receive will be used to teach rigorous content, inspire students to dream big, and empower them to take ownership of their own life's trajectory.
