Our school is a full inclusion school, students work individually, but also work collaboratively, they come from all different backgrounds--racially and ethnically--but many come from dealing with trauma--writing their stories allows them to process and overcome their trauma and "write" their way into hopeful futures. We're a small school, a school that faces challenges since we're on the state turnaround list in Massachusetts. The challenge is for us to raise MCAS scores, but at the same time help students to see reading and writing as meaningful and relevant for their everyday lives.

About my class
