I was recently awarded a grant by my local public schools foundation for drones. The iPad's will allow my students to implement what they have learned in my class through coding to actually interact with the drones. Drones and iPad's actually have the ability to teach students in many different curriculum areas. The iPad's and drones will help my students learn about math, social studies and STEM. Students will learn about geography, cartography, technology, programming, coding, engineering, and real world math problems. I have set up an obstacle course which students use the iPad's to program the drones to navigate the course. By utilizing iPad's in my class I will be transforming the way I teach and will be able to provide students with the opportunity to interact with technology in a more interactive and hands on format.
