My students are high poverty inner city students who do not have many opportunities in their community. My school gives students a calm place to learn outside their urban environment. My classes are a hotbed of talented kids who are just waiting for their opportunity to shine. Also, my school does not offer extra curricular activities that are related to art or music. This means that arts classes are limited to drawing and painting and we do not offer any music courses at our school. Getting these instruments will give an outlet to those musically minded students.
