Ralph Waldo Emerson 58 is a local community school that servers approximately 330 students K-6th grade. Our school struggles with having and distributing newer and current materials to students. About 80% of our students are on free and reduced lunch. For the past year and half- students have been unable to check out any books at all due to the lack of funds and a media associate. I have just started out here as the new media associate and I am seeking to get the materials and resources that all children deserve, especially my students. I want to ensure that my scholars are given an enriching and meaningful experience with their library. I am hoping to recreate the the library with new books, displays, art, comfortable reading sections, and an open and soothing environment in which they can read and learn.
