My 22 students are split into four different groups (which so happen to be named after the each of the Hogwarts' houses in Harry Potter). In each of these four groups there are between 5 and 6 students. The students have computer time daily (sometimes twice a day), but there are only 4 computers in the room leaving one or two students unable to access the technology that will help their minds grow. Being a school in a low-income area, many students do not have access to computers or the Internet at home so the only opportunity they have to utilize this resource is during our class computer time. These two iPads will enable each child the ability to access these vital resources, as well as providing them with essential training in technology which has become a must in our tech savvy culture.
