My class is STEM-focused course on design and modeling. Throughout the 9-week course, students are introduced to basic engineering principles used in design. Not only do student get to think of design solutions, they get to build them physically and digitally. While learning these principles, they get the opportunity to apply their knowledge to make designs that assist individuals with cerebral palsy among other design challenges. During the school year, I am given the opportunity to work with all 600 kids that attend our 6th grade. Most tasks are completed as a group and provide valuable team-building skills used later in life.
