Our class(es) are part the gifted pull-out program at our school. We meet every day to enrich and extend our reading skills. Being a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) focus school, most of our day focuses on math and science, so unfortunately the love of reading and history tends to be overlooked. Because of this, our teacher is always trying to find ways to help us see the importance (and joy) of reading & history. This can be challenging because, like most schools, we have limited resources and are short on books that would really help us with these efforts. Another challenge has been finding books that are challenging for our higher-than-average reading levels, but yet age appropriate for us. The two book sets we are asking for are not only interesting but are also at appropriate reading levels for us.
