We are a class of students who are creative, ambitious, resilient, and proud. Most of us were displaced by Hurricane Katrina in 1st grade, and many of us lost substantial learning time. Because of this, and myriad other factors, we enter high school several years behind grade-level proficiency. This motivates us, however, to conquer those challenges and to make our names known among the thousands of other students at our school. Most of the classrooms we've come through have been under-resourced, but that hasn't stopped us from being stars in our community through singing, dancing, acting, drawing, and athletics. Some of us love to read, and are even working on books we hope to publish someday.

About my class
