My students contend with many of the challenges that many city school populations in our nation face. My students are at a disadvantage coming into middle school science because they have been exposed to little science material in their past years of school. For this reason, the achievement gap is magnified in my science class. It is ever more important that my students receive the best science education I can possibly provide them to prepare them for high school science, college and their future careers.
