These students have varying special needs from processing to autism. My students have disabilities that put them in a unique category. Here is the main concern: they might be able to work when they are older if they can get basic skills mastered now. If basics are not mastered now they will have a slim chance of mastering basics later (e.g., basic arithmetic, basic speaking and listening, following multi-step simple directions, counting money, etc.). These skills are within reach. but they require massive amounts of practice that technology can provide efficiently. The need structure, lots of small steps to reach goals, and lots of documenting of data to see where they are having difficulty. Either these students master basics now and can work in the real world, or they may likely fall further behind and basically spend their days at home (or in a group home setting) not taking part in life as they could have
