My students are in need whiteboards, a microphone, and other materials to make our whole group instruction more engaging. Classroom supplies to be able to enhance their learning. I teach in a high poverty, low-income school. Our day usually starts with a student raising their hand saying, "Teacher, I don't have a pencil." Most of my students don't have the financial means to purchase their own classroom supplies. This leaves us scrambling every day to make sure students have what they need. Materials, such as these, will be utilized to create engaging lessons that spark intrigue and curiosity within my students. In our classroom, we attempt to do engaging activities like interactive notebooks. Our classroom is in need of supplies such as whiteboards, markers, erasers, and other basic supplies. Many of these materials will be used in conjunction without interactive notebooks. We use math notebooks to engage students and create interest in the lesson. Traditional notes are often times difficult for students to read, or are uninteresting. Interactive notebooks help spark student interest in the concepts being presented and are often easier to read thanks to colorful headings and detailed images. These notes can be referenced by students when doing practice in and out of the classroom, as well as, test preparation. My students are excited to learn and grow throughout the year.
