Coming from one of the poorest and most violent cities, one can image the school conditions. The Budget just doesn't include the funds for, what some would consider "the nice things." Yet, this is exactly what is needed to create the atmosphere of safety and potential that is needed for the students. Just looking at the picture of my classroom, you can see it needs help to make it come alive. My students, are motivated, determined, and driven to not only reach for the stars, but to climb as high as they possibly can. "I Quit" and "I can't" are not words allowed in my classroom, for every student has the potential to excel and succeed. With your help, I can help these students break the cycle of poverty and violence. Changing the school, community and future, one student at a time.
