These students needs to learn important social-emotional skills in order to learn how to cope with everyday problems. Many times we work on verbalizing their emotions appropriately in order for them to not have problems in the classroom and have more opportunities to learn. We often play therapeutic games and activities in order for them to learn these different and very important skills. Every time a child has an emotional outburst they have to leave the classroom and lose instructional time. In our sessions they will learn coping skills that they can utilize in times of crisis or even simple problems.
