I have the privilege of teaching 28 wonderful kindergarten students in a developmental bilingual program at a Title I school. Although the year has just started, I have already witnessed my students developing a love for learning and a strong interest in learning about letters, numbers and the world around them. I want to support their interest in books and reading by providing as many opportunities as possible for students to listen to rich, authentic literature in both English and Spanish, as well as early reader texts that will allow my kindergarteners to develop the literacy skills they need to gain a comfort and familiarity with reading.
