By using From an Idea to Disney, I will be able to start the year out with a book that is accessible to all of my 8th graders, no matter their reading levels. Learning about the history of Walt Disney and all the obstacles he had to overcome in his life shows my students a shining example of a growth mindset. Teaching my students to have a growth mindset helps them see that determination and perseverance are the keys to a successful life. The notebooks and other materials will be used to create a reference notebook students will use all year to help them find success with required 8th-grade language arts standards.
