Welcome! I invite you to read and learn about my students who have multiple disabilities that affect their communication skills. We often take for granted our ability to communicate. Often my students act out in frustration or loneliness. Since many of these particular students do not have the ability to verbally communicate, they lack peer relationships and the ability to express wants/needs. The students are also unable to verbally participate during circle time and group activities which leads them to shy away from those activities. In the classroom setting, the students may know the answer to a question or may want to participate in a conversation but they do not possess the verbal communication skills to do so. Giving a child the ability to use their voice is giving them the opportunity to fit in their environment. I ask for your assistance in giving these deserving children a voice. Thank you!
