My students attend a Title I school in an urban community. My students' experiences are often full of difficulty - and the skills they will gain in the classroom will be used as tools to help them better understand how they experience the world, and ultimately how to improve and change it. The primary grades are where they will start to build a strong foundation for the rest of their school lives. Although my students enter my classroom with different experiences, values, interests, and skills, they all share an immense capacity to learn, to question, to understand and to grow. Within my students I have found a group of people who will transform their communities!
