In reading "Wonder," my students will explore different features of a novel, including plot, structure, character development, and theme, while enjoying the story. The reading and analysis of this novel by the entire class allows my students to explore these essential aspects of literature. Inclusion is a critical concept that students should grasp in their adolescent years. The story of "Wonder" promotes the understanding and acceptance of kids who are different. This story is especially relatable for my students because the characters are their age and are experiencing similar feelings of self-discovery. This popular novel will promote acceptance in the classroom and in the broader world.
