I am a resource specialist at Cortines high school of Visual and Performing Arts. I have 28 students on my caseload with disabilities ranging from autism, specific learning disability, other health impairment, and hard of hearing. My students are in the general education classroom with their peers as I push-into the classrooms to support my students and the teacher. I help my students access the general education curriculum by implementing strategies and giving them accommodations. Despite their learning challenges, my students strive to keep up with the general education curriculum. I also have 2 periods of learning centers, which is a class for students with IEPs to work towards their academic goals. They also utilize this period to take tests and get additional help on homework or classwork that they need to complete.
