My students are active readers, mathematicians, explorers, writers, investigators, and above all... learners. They are members of a tight- knit classroom of 25, and part of a Title 1, high poverty school. They come to school each day eager and enthusiastic to embark on their next BIG learning adventure. For many of these students, their education will provide most of their 'life' experiences and opportunities. At this point in their life, learning is new, exciting, and hands on. By providing them with these new materials for their word work, they will be able to enjoy their learning adventure. At this time in my classroom, there is not a variety of work work opportunities for my students to practice because there is a lack of, or no materials. The materials that I am requesting, such as the magnetic tub of letters, magnetic writing boards, stamps, and word work puzzles will provide my students will these crucial opportunities that they deserve to have.
