My amazing 5th graders come from many different backgrounds. All of them are new to this school this year, because it has changed from a K-2 school to a K-6 school. With such a high rate of poverty, many students had no supplies to offer on the first day of school. My job as their teacher is to provide them with daily classroom experiences that engaged and provide them with interactive, hands-on lessons that will create the desire for lifelong learning.
