I have 20 2nd grade students who primarily come from low economic backgrounds. I work in an old mill town in Maine at one of the last remaining neighborhood schools in the district. Nearly every student qualifies for free and reduced lunch. Many of my students need additional opportunities with social emotional lessons and practice. I spend lots of time teaching my students how to be reflective and advocate for their needs. These students are so eager to learn and I do whatever I can to help them along their education journey.
