My project will provide my Kindergarten students a comfortable learning space that is free of distractions. Currently my classroom is covered with tile flooring that is hard and cold. My students would benefit from sitting on the classroom rug instead of the tile floor for whole group reading and math instruction. A classroom rug will ensure that each student is comfortable and within close proximity of the teacher during whole group instruction. This allows me to easily monitor my large group of students and check for understanding throughout the lesson so that each student will learn and grow. I know a classroom rug will help them stay engaged and positively impact their success in the classroom.
