The resource room is one of the few places many of my students feel truly comfortable during the school day so why should the seating be any different? Many of them are hyperactive and require frequent movement to stay focused and keep calm. The bungee chairs will allow them the opportunity to release some of this energy while still being able to participate in classroom activities. Since they have to spend hours in traditional desks in the general ed setting, I want them to be able to have more flexibility in the resource room so that we can make the most of our time together and focus on closing those critical gaps. Flexible seating increases student engagement by creating a student-centered classroom that allows them to feel comfortable while learning, as well as encourages them to make empowering choices.
