Alternative Seating for Alternative Education is my goal. My students need a variety of alternative seating options to work in the classroom. I have requested medicine balls for my movers and bean bag chairs for my lounging, but hard working students. We also love to come to a carpet to sit and just be comfortable during direct instruction time. The biggest thing they have taught me so far is that learning isn't a one size fit all box for every student. With so many students that are diagnosed as ADHD and even those that aren't, NEED to be successful. Since many of my students work best in a non-traditional setting, one common theme has been the use (or non-use) of traditional desks and chairs. I have a big bean bag chair that was donated to me several years ago and it it falling apart. I have binder clip keeping it together. They LOVE that chair and can't wait to read in it. As a donor, you have an exciting opportunity to give these alternative kids a way to learn on their terms. For many of my students, your generous donation will help them focus and academically achieve far greater than ever before. Thank you!
