I am so grateful for the people who support me with this project. These materials will be utilized every day by students. My students don't have much in their homes and have few opportunities for enrichment. My goal is to offer them materials that incorporate all of their senses. I am a special education teacher in a very large school where most of the children have experienced poverty and/or trauma. Most of my students live with food and housing insecurity. School is their safe place. Surrounding them with colorful and fun materials provides additional motivation to learn and thrive. The counting cars and elephants will give my students the opportunity to practice counting again and again, without getting bored. The workbooks will provide a way to practice skills, but also be able to enjoy the cute illustrations that come with each lesson. All of this will help them to learn the fundamental skills of reading and math, from the comfort of a wiggle stool! Your generosity is the love in the world.
