Through the gifted program, I hope to make a difference and open up a world of opportunity for my students that they may otherwise never get to experience. Since I teach at a rural school district with limited resources, I am hoping to achieve my goals through Donors Choose. My students are unique with very special abilities and talents. Their ages range from 7-8 and they are inquisitive children who are discovering the world around them. Often times, gifted children are socially ostracized because they are seen as "different" and their peers have a difficult time relating to them. When they come to gifted education classes, they are able to develop friendships with other children who can relate to them emotionally as well as intellectually. My goal is to provide enriching opportunities for these children and offer support and resources for them to explore their interests and help them achieve their dreams.
