My students attend a very low income school in Detroit, Michigan. A full 100% of my students are on free lunch. In an effort to not only teach my students facts but give them lifelong skills, I am now teaching a practical course in journalism and photography. At the end of the course, one student will be given an internship and another a scholarship to college, thanks to the generosity of a Detroit newspaper.
