We are a New York City, public school, whose students come from many countries and speak many languages. The international nature of the school community we serve make us a perfect fit for connecting to classrooms around the country and around the world. Our parents look to education to realize the dreams they have for their children and that includes providing the latest technology for 21st century learning. Technology is often financially beyond the grasp of our families and so they look to us to give these children the very resources that will make them competitive. We are excellent candidates for using Skype, because of our international backgrounds and the many cultures that enrich our school. My second grade students are highly motivated to learn but adding a laptop that would enable us to connect with other classrooms would immeasurably enhance our learning environment and make that learning all the more exciting.
