Our classroom is in need of a large gathering carpet for flexible seating. A rug will help with noise reduction, comfort, safety benefits, as well as improve the learning environment. It will further provide a place for whole and small group teaching, versatile seating, center activities, inviting spaces for reading, and improved behavior management. Classroom carpets create a warm and engaging environment that can reduce distractions and maximize learning. Children want to feel warmth and comfort and a comfortable meeting area with proper sensory lighting which foster a supportive community in the classroom. Gathering at the meeting area is more engaging and effective for instruction, and moving from the meeting area to other areas around the classroom provides important physical activity. The florescent lighting in our classroom is often too bright, hums, and even flickers, which is distracting for my students to focus and work comfortably. Light covers will help to reduce the glare of fluorescent lighting, making a calmer and more comfortable working space. Since lighting influences vision and learning, making students' eyes more comfortable in the classroom will optimize comfort and learning for our classroom family.
