My students need technology within the classroom in order to enrich their reading, math, and social emotional learning skills. Throughout the school day, our classroom consists of learning rotations that includes an independent station. By having iPads available, students will be able to access apps that are at their ability level, while also giving each student the opportunity to work independently. Not only will the iPads be used as an academic resource for my students, but this technology will also encourage my student's communication abilities, will enhance daily activities, and will be used to encourage new skills. An iPad will be used as a communication tool for my students who struggle with verbally expressing their needs; using a variety of pictures for a student to point to, assists in communication between student and teacher, making sure all needs are being met. The iPad will also be a resource that enriches daily activities, such as calendar time and individual student schedules. Consequently, learning apps that are fun and engaging will also increase appropriate behaviors during learning time.
