Students will be able to use their very own classroom library to check out books to read at night as a part of their nightly homework. Students are required to participate in a program called Accelerated Reader, students read a book, and then test on the book through a computer program. This program test comprehension. In addition to students having access to books in the classroom, students will have the opportunity to participate in novel studies, where we will have in depth discussions about the text. Students will be able to read in small groups and participate in discussions, activities and writing.
