My TK's are the brightest, kindest, most energetic sweeties one could ever meet! These busy bees come from impoverished African American and Latino households, but they are lacking nothing in terms of their joy for learning and their endless potential. Everyday they come to school ready to learn! I'm humbled by their vast abilities, talents, and interests! They keep me on my toes and inspire me to explore new and culturally competent experiences for them! I teach at a Title 1 school where 100% of the students are provided with free lunch. I tirelessly research grants and scholarships to give them experiences in and outside of the classroom that will prepare them for the 21st century workforce and college. Education is the right of even the poorest child, not a privilege only afforded to the richest. I could talk about my kids incessantly, but above all else, they are worthy of every good thing this world has to offer simply because they are here on this earth, ready to learn!
