This year I am teaching 3rd grade in the South Bronx. I taught 2nd grade in the same school last year so I am lucky enough to be teaching many of the same students. The students in my class are very eager to learn. They come to school every morning ready to take on new challenges. Our school is a Title 1 school. The majority of my students come from low-income households. Many of their parents work multiple jobs to provide for their children. As their teacher I want to provide them with resources and experiences they may not have access to at home. Every new experience for my students now leads to opportunities for them in the future.
