Gone are the days of teaching procedural math. I was never taught the real-world application of certain mathematical skill (algebra?). Today, we focus on real-world applications to the skills we are learning to allow students to better understand when to apply the concept. With each new skill, students will be required to investigate on their own, the possible uses for the concepts. More importantly, how they will personally use the skill. The chrome books will allow students to learn how the mathematics they are learning is more than a requirement for a grade in a math class. The chrome books will give them the tools to find a ​purpose for math.
