As a first grader, you are constantly learning and experiencing new things. Giving students a choice in a collaborative class of where to sit gives them ownership and responsibility for their learning style. Having choices that are kid and brain friendly increases concentration, attention, posture, learning, fun and pure excitement. I am moving my awesome classroom to a "flexible seating" classroom, where learning can be comfortable. Students will be practicing, modeling, asking questions, collaborating with peers, exploring learning, and creating. The flexible seating option will encourage students to get comfortable and choose the best option for their learning and growth. My students will be using balance chairs, wobble chairs, balance balls, and tables to work and learn in a more comfortable environment.
