I have very low intellectual students grades K-5 but most are low readers from low socioeconomic levels. We get very little parent support in my classroom. Many students most normal schedule and expectations are in each school day. They all receive free breakfast/lunch and even participate in an after school program that even provides dinner. My school is a Pre-K-5 Title I school. I would love to order materials from Scholastic New and or Book clubs to enhance our reading library; teach small groups and encourage current events into my planning.
