The student population consists of ESL students and traditional students that speak English. Students who speak Spanish struggle with text identification when written in English. That are able to learn, but at a much slower pace. The text booklets in the students native language will help them learn to read and write Spanish text using the English language once read. This in turn will help enhance their reading comprehension, fluency, and Spanish to English translation. Hence, making them successful readers. This project will also engage parents into reading text with their children. Students will be able to partner with other students throughout the school.
