I love teaching fifth grade! It is such a pivotal year for my students. One of my goals as their teacher is to help them transition from being an elementary student to that of a more independent and confident middle school student. I love giving them opportunities to make choices based on their unique preferences for learning. They are so successful when they are able to work in the way that fits them best. My students are in the classroom for many hours during a school day. More than half of them come from low-income homes and are eligible for free or reduced meals. They are a very diverse group! They need and deserve an environment that is not only conducive to learning, but welcoming and comfortable. With the help of Donors Choose, I will be able to continue providing my students with the best learning opportunities possible.
