I'm a social studies teacher on a middle school team of 119 sixth graders. My school's population is quite diverse and kids come from varying backgrounds and experiences. Some are well-traveled and some only experience the bus ride to and from school. About 54% of our population live below the poverty line. However, regardless of their background, I'm working to make them news-hungry, globally literate, socially intelligent, history-savvy critical thinkers and responsible citizens of this wonderful world they have yet to experience.

About my class
