The Bouncy Bands being requested would be such a wonderful addition to our classroom. Even though there are opportunities for movement throughout the day in our room, there are the inevitable tests that must be administered. Students would be allowed the freedom to move at their discretion to just get the wiggles out. Additionally, my smallest children's feet rarely touch the floor, yet they don't complain. I would like to ease the discomfort those children face, and provide an outlet for my attention deficit children. As an adult, it is difficult to remain seated for a long period of time. While the Bouncy Bands do not replace the need to get up and moving which I already provide, they will give more autonomy to my students. Our kids deserve consideration when it comes to the best way to educate. My students come from backgrounds where sitting still for any length of time is difficult. Harder still is having to focus for that amount of time. The Bouncy Bands would just be a beginning in providing more flexible seating for my students and I would be so grateful for those who can help me get started on that journey.
