We are an elementary school in a rural southwest MS town with an enrollment of about 675 students made up of grades K-5. There are 4 1st grade sections of which my class is one.I have 30 students in my class this year! We have a high poverty rate which means the majority of our students don't always have the resources they need. Our textbook budget has been drastically cut and Science has been added to our curriculum this year but, we have no books or other resources to teach science with. The student body is comprised of regular and inclusion students with few ELL students.
