My students struggle making it through their required reading material. They need extra time to work on it and my class provides that as well as critical reading strategies. Using area rugs, bean bags, and pillows I feel I can make a space for my students where they feel comfortable and relaxed. I want to make it a place that encourages reading. The noise cancelling headphones can help my students focus, which can be a real struggle for them. The high school headphones also will allow them to listen to audio books on any device. My students rely on a lot of technology to help them succeed. This is a missing component for them.
