I teach an incredible group eighth graders who have a passion for learning. Each one of them is extremely talented in different ways and they are just waiting to show off their talents at any opportunity. We live in a high poverty area and many of my students face challenges in their lives that many people cannot even fathom. We have a very high population of free and reduced lunch students and a large population of students with disabilities. Despite these adversities, each of my students come to school every day with smiles on their faces ready to face whatever challenge I give them. We have over 900 students in our middle school and funding for technology and science lab supplies for all of these students is difficult. My students deserve the best that I can offer them. They have an innate need to learn by using technology and exploring science through the use of hands-on materials.
