My students are preschoolers (3- and 4-year-olds) with autism living in a diverse part of the Bay Area in California. All of my students face delays in learning to talk, listen, and play well with others. This is my first year teaching in this classroom and I have unfortunately found that there are not a lot of toys or materials for us to use to play with. For students this young and particularly those with autism, it is so important to have exciting, engaging materials to be able to help students to want to learn to talk and play with others. So far, we have been doing a lot by making our own materials, but I need more resources to help keep students engaged and expand their language and social skills.
