Our classroom is very non-traditional, in that we don't sit in desks and chairs. My students sit at low tables on floor pillows, in moon chairs, chair swings, and couches. The one thing they don't really have the opportunity to do, is stand and learn. I have seen immense improvement in their comprehension, and retention, in this learning environment. I feel they would be even more successful if they were given the opportunity to stand and learn. Some of my students find it difficult to sit all day. Being able to stand, comfortably, at a table and work would greatly benefit a good majority of my students.
