A classroom carpet is the central hub of most primary grade classrooms. It is an area for morning meeting, small group instruction, reading buddies and more! The rug I have selected will not only serve those purposes for my students, but it will also be used as a life-size hundreds chart for my kinesthetic learners! My students will be able to use their bodies to skip count, add, subtract, and discover number patterns with this valuable resource! This tactile learning will allow them to build better number sense and make connections they otherwise might not make! I am excited at the prospect of my students owning their learning and utilizing this rug to its full potential.
