My students need the Ili Translator so that they can communicate their needs more quickly in order to demonstrate their abilities. The Ili Translator will allow me to quickly identify students' strengths/abilities. This occassionally takes a while- I have to model and repeat expectations quite oftern. The translator will provide a sense of comfort for students. Hearing one's home language is very comforting. This device will prevent students from not showing their full potential simply because some components of the directions were lost in translation. The students that want to work more independently can do so while those who need more language support can have it as well. This translator will aide me in giving more clear directions to students.
